Katie enjoyed this book she loved the colourful colours and big pictures of the animals. It had rhyming words that followed each page. The animals are the ones she is learning about. This edition came with an audio CD one side is a straight recording and the other side makes a sound to turn the page. Great book.

I really liked the simplicity of the book. The illustrations of the animals were bold and colourful which really captured my sons attention. The book uses repetition which gives it a nice flow. I think this will be our new bedtime favourite!

Another superbly written and illustrated book by Eric Carle, author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Slowly, Slowly Slowly said the Sloth. The book is written in lovely lulling, repetitive, rhyming poetry with large bold charismatic illustrations that grab your attention and keep you drawn in. This book came with an audio CD which my kids love and is a nice bonus feature.

This is a fantastic book from the author of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. The story starts off with Brown Bear and then follows a different animal on each double page. 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? I see a Red Bird looking at me.' The language used is simple and the repetition gives the whole story a lovely rhythm. At the end of each double page it tells you what will be on the next page. The repetition and very colourful illustrations make it great for little ones to rote learn even if they can't read yet. We really enjoyed this book.

This is a beautiful book by Eric Carle - already one of our favourites. It's quite simple with an animal on each page and words to guess the animal on the next page. The images are bold and bright and engaging and the repetition is great for the youngest children. We borrowed this from the library but will be buying our own copy very soon - we love it.

We love this book so much as a family.  My 9 year old was given it as a BookStart book a few years ago and loved us reading it to her so much that she memorised it and was able to read it herself at 2 and a half!  Its a lovely book with lots of animals of all different colours telling each other what they see.  Its repetitive which young children love.

We love reading this book, my son is always eager to find out what animal is on the next page. It has helped him with his colours especially being able to say them

One of my all time favourite books as a Reception teacher. So simple with the repetitive phrases but it works! The pictures are bold and clear, but also unusual in the colour choices which the children love.

Another lovely book written by Eric Carle with big, bold, colourful illustrations (not his illustrations this time but very good all the same). The book has a lovely lilting rhythm to it which makes it enticing to listen to and my son likes to join in naming the animals and colours.

Another winning book from Eric Carle, although this time with a different illustrator (Bill Martin, Junior). This is great for young children - there is a lot of repetition, lots of animals and lots of colours mentioned. By turn, an animal has to try and guess what the next animal in the book will be.  Bright, engaging and delightful to read to young children.

I read it to Cece aged 4 aged 4
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 9780141501598
5 stars
Probably the very first book my daughter, Cece, loved and, 4 years later, still does.

The book shows a bold colourful picture of an animal on each page and asks what that animal sees ... the answer, on the next page, is another animal. For example: "Brown Bear Brown Bear what do you see ... i see a red bird looking at me".

The book's rhythm and appealing pictures are perfect for young curious ears and eyes. Cece particularly liked guessing the next animal and it helped her learn colours and vocabulary. She found it comforting at nighttime, stimulating during the day and still picks it up to "read" to her teddies and dolls. Definitely a keeper.

Lovely illustrations, really nice flow for reading allowed. Evie loves the bright images of animals and would keep making me go to her favourites (yellow Duck, Blue Horse, Purple Cat) Shes also at thr point where she tries to mimic what we say so the large illustrations are great for showing her the animal and allowing her to try and say the word back.

I read it to Pre-schoolA aged 2 to 4
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 9780141501598
5 stars
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See is a lovely easy to read book for younger children. There is a simple rhyming text which follows on throughout the book which is brilliant for getting the children to join in and it makes them very excited to do so as they can pretty much read the book themselves once they've been read it a few times. On each page there is a new animal which the children enjoy looking at and talking about with their friends and the beautiful illustrations of each animal really grab their attention. I like how the pages are simple with just an animal image being predominant as it keeps the children focused and helps them follow on with the story. I like how being this way the images are perfect to get children learning their colours and animals and it's much more interesting for them than some typical colours books. This is a fantastic book which the pre-school children look forward to reading whether alone or with an adult and when we take a selection of books outside this tends to always be their first choice!

I love the illustrations in this book and how, similar to the very hungry caterpillar, the pictures are bright and feature on a white background. Each page follows the same rhyme and describe the colour of the animal on each page. I like the way the pictures include different shades of the same colour for the child to see and learn. At the end it recaps on all things spotted throughout the book and the colours. Simple yet effective.
