A hilarious comedy about vlogging gone wrong from the author of TV's My Mad Fat Diary, perfect for fans of Holly Smale, Cathy Cassidy and Zoella.

A hilarious story about two best friends, a cat and a vlog gone wrong from the author of TV's My Mad Fat Diary, perfect for fans of Holly Smale, Cathy Cassidy and Zoella. Everyone relies on Millie Porter for good advice - her friends, family, even her cat. So she decides to start a vlog with her best friend Lauren, where they will help people with the things that really matter: parents, cats, make-up and boys. Not even Erin Breeler, Queen of Instagram, can stop them. But is fab contouring and a cat who likes standing on Millie's head enough to make her an online sensation?

I really enjoyed this book as it’s all about social media and I love vlogging and YouTube. If you have a daughter that like Zoella then she will definitely enjoy this book. It made me laugh a lot and became one of my favourite books.

A very current account of life for pre-teen/ teenagers today, the struggles with how much of their life to share on social media and how easy it is to neglect your life around you when you live your life through a screen.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which is really surprising as i wasn't sold on the front cover or the blurb- probably because it is aimed at and features older children than me. However i completely fell in love with Millie and her story. I would happily read and reread this book again.

The importance with a central character is that they aren't perfect, otherwise they have no depth and Millie is a very flawed character (she's not always likeable) who thankfully starts to see that not everything she thinks is bad or wrong actually is, sometimes other people have things going on that you just don't see and accepts the changes that are happening in her life. Teenage life is not an easy road, life in general has it's ups and downs and i feel that this story shows that in a very real, modern way.

I really enjoyed the story, i felt Millie's growth as a character and i completely feel for Lauren who as a sub plot was really going through the ringer at home. There is a lot of reality in this book but still plenty of humour too.

I didn't feel out of place reading a book intended for older readers, i read a lot of stories for other age groups and felt there was no content i should be allowed to read in this story, nothing went over my head and i engaged with the story well emotionally. This was the first book i've read that featured a kiss though and i thought that it was described very sensitively for the age.

Five stars. Top read.

What a fun book. It takes a lot to get my 12 year old to read a book, but she loved this.

Introducing the wonderful voice of Millie.  Millie lives with her Mum, her mum's neat-freak boyfriend Gary, Gary's robotic hoover McWhirter and Dave, her cat...until of course she doesn't.  Until of course she decides to take Dave and live with her Grandad, her Dad and her Aunty Teresa.  The two homes couldn't be more different. The one: neat, ordered, tidy and clean. The other: a chaotic, madcap arrangement with the energy of Aunty Teresa swirling through the rooms like a tornado where both Millie's Grandad and Millie retreat to Grandad's shed for calm.  But both are home to Millie, and both love and understand her. Both trust her and know her to be thoughtful and caring and sensible; a good ear and a soft shoulder.  Being sensible is somewhat of a burden to Millie but she knows how to make her best friend Lauren laugh especially when her best friend is upset about her own parents arguing.  Which leads Millie to consider vlogging, not just about make-up but about whether you need make up, about being yourself.  All things which will inevitably, given the public nature of social media, be commented on...and put her in competition with Erin Breeler, Queen of Instagram, and all round mean girl.  Is she strong enough to handle it? Will it put pressure on her friendships? What will Danny Trudeau, the lovely Canadian new boy, think?

Kind, warm, upbeat and funny. Really funny.

This is a good book, especially for cat lovers! Even if you're not a big cat fan, this book is still enjoyable. As a fan of Holly Smale and Cathy Cassidy I loved it; it's a cool, modern book about the everyday problems of real life. I would recommend to ages 9+.

I loved reading this book! It was quite funny and really fun to read! I recommend this book +11. My favourite part was when Dave was attacking Millies Grandad's calendar. It was my favourite part because it was so funny to think of. My favourite character was Dave because she is really funny and obviously has a strong personality for a cat. Even though her name is Dave, she's a girl. I find this also quite funny to think of!

Overall, the book was a great read! I hope other people enjoy reading the book as much as I did!

I liked this book because it gave you a snippet of things that could happen to you in real life and how to deal with them, but in a creative way. I enjoyed reading this book because it was a funny and interesting read. I would recommend this book to children aged 9 to 13 or anyone who's interested in social media or vlogging.

I would give this more stars if i could.  I LOVED this book. Once i started reading i couldn't put this down. I thought it was hilarious and i laughed out loud quite a lot reading this book.
It's a story about a girl that has a cat named dave, who's actually a girl! She's a normal teenager girl that likes the usual boys, makeup and vlogs, so decides to start one herself.
I don't want to give too much away but she becomes an internet sensation, all because of Dave!
Am amazing read :-)
