Ava's new kitten, Tiger, may be small but he makes up for it with his big personality and sense of adventure. As Tiger gets up to various escapades Ava finds herself coming to the rescue, even having to save the kitten from next-door's dogs when Tiger climbs over the garden wall. But when the kitten disappears one night Ava has no idea where he could be. Meanwhile, Tiger is stuck up in a tall tree, cold and alone.
The next day Ava is walking home from school with her friend Jess, about to put up missing posters, when she hears a meow and spots Tiger. The girls go to get Jess's dad, who has a tall ladder, but the terrified kitten only retreats further into the tree as he sees this strange man approach. Ava bravely climbs up with some cat treats, and she and her beloved kitten are reunited.

This is a lovely book about a little kitten called Tiger and her owner, Ava. My son really enjoyed reading this book and discovering the relationship between Tiger and Ava, especially as he does not have a pet and has never understood how you could form such a relationship. I loved hearing him read this book and watching how engaged he was, especially to find out if Tiger ever got saved.

My daughter loved this tale of a kitten and her owner Ava. She was hooked early on and enjoyed listening to what they got up too and how tiger gets saved! She enjoys animal books and this one kept her interested. I read it to her but she also read sections. I would recommend!

This is a lovely book. It some detailed black and white drawings interspersed throughout it and the writing is a good size and not too hard. Ava and her sisters go to get a kitten and decide to name it Tiger. Tiger is lovely but likes to go exploring. Ava tries her best to keep Tiger out of trouble and danger but when he goes missing one night she starts to worry. We really enjoyed reading this book and really liked the ending.

Good book for my 5.5 yo confident reader. Just the right level of trepidation / peril for him to be able to enjoy it and get a good night's sleep after reading a full chapter - not too scary, and with some good language which introduced a few new words. We have a bit of trouble trying to find books at the right reading level with age appropriate content. This one hits the nail on the head in that respect. He read ahead (an early waker!) and then I read it out loud one chapter at a time at bedtimes.

Eve is nearly 8 and she found the book a little bit young for her, the age recommended is 6-8 but I would definitely say its a better book the lower age. The writing is quite big and its a easy story to follow.

My 7yo daughter read this to herself in a couple of days. She told me it was a funny story about a cheeky kitten but it all ended happily.
