A teacher is stabbed outside school by a student. Jackson, a young boy who witnesses the stabbing, goes on a personal quest to find out the motives behind the attack. Over the course of the investigation, Jackson forms an unlikely friendship with the victim's wife, has to face the murderer's mother and confronts the school bullies and their victims. Through all of this he invites the reader to reflect on the many factors that contribute to a crime being committed,
