What a great book, fun illustrations and interactive too. Max goes to the museum and when he gets home decides to write a letter to the T Rex. Then he responds with letters you can lift up and unfold. A great book about friendship, that my little boy enjoyed.

This is one of my sons favourite books at the moment and what a lovely book it is. It tells the story of Max (a little boy who loves dinosaurs) and his unlikely friendship with a Tyrannosaurus Rex at the museum. They write to each other & this follows the correspondence that they have with each other including letters, emails and postcards. It is a perfect bedtime story book and children can interact with it too.

What a wonderful way to end the day.  This book had my four year old intrigued throughout.

The main character Max goes to the museum to see his favourite thing- a T-Rex, my four year old immediately decided this was "London" as he has been there, again building the interest.  When Max arrives he meets the Curator who tells him it's closing time but to come back, which Max can't as they live so far away, so the idea of a letter is suggested.

This idea is where the book really comes into its own- the letters written by both Max and the T-Rex are believable, funny, informative and has a wonderful use of language.  The chance to discuss how they have written the envelope, letter, postcard layout etc presents a fun learning opportunity.  Ewan enjoyed opening the letters, cards and finding what had been said.

The illustrations also made this such a delightful book, pictures of a T-Rex writing and posting a letter- cue lots of little boy laughs along with many of the other pictures.

We will definitely be reading this again.

My daughter really enjoys this book it's about a little boy called Max and Max loves Dinosaurs.  He goes to the museum with his parents and when he gets to see his favourite Tyrannosaurus Rex the curator announces that the museum is closing. As Max lives far from the museum he decides to write a letter to Tyrannosaurus Rex.  This is the part my daughter loves as Max and Tyrannosaurus Rex write back and forth to each other; their letters are funny and made my little girl laugh. The letters and cards are stuck to the pages for you to open up and read , this is a great added touch as it gives you the feel of reading their actual letters. A great story with nice, bright and colourful illustrations.

This is a great story for dinosaur lovers. Max goes to visit the museum but it is closing before he has a chance to ask all his questions about dinosaurs and the curator suggests he sends the T Rex a letter and so the correspondence between Max and the T Rex begins.

The book has various forms of letters from email to postcard and birthday card which fold out for you to read. The book is full of facts presented in a very easy way for children to understand and the vocabulary used is great for stretching young minds.

What a fantastic book! My class loved reading through the story of a boy and his favourite dinosaurs correspondence and they adored taking it in turns to pull out the cards and letters! It inspired so much fantastic creative writing. Also read Dear Dinosaur on Tour, which was a wonderful extension. Recommend!
