I enjoyed this book very much. I liked it as I like reading pirate story's. It had loads of action which made it exciting. I liked it when the children found the treasure by leaving their room. It looked like they were going to get told off, but they didn't. Captain fire beard actually wanted someone to find it one day. To a friend I would rate this 5 stars.

As soon as I started reading this to my son it reminded me of Harry Potter except it was a school for pirates aboard a pirate ship , the characters were like Harry, Ron and Hermonie.
I loved doing the funny voices especially talking like a pirate.
My son wasn't so sure on the pictures, he kept asking "why are they orange ?" , maybe a bit of colour would have been nice.
Would love to see further adventures from Captain Firebeards Ship.

Like their different nicknames and McBeaky the parrot says the funniest things at the most awkward times.  Interesting pirate sayings and see their wonderful adventures they get up to while learning to be a pirate

This is the first book in a new series of pirate stories and it's packed full of adventure and skulduggery. It follows Tommy and his friends, Jo and Milton, as they embark on their first term at pirate school. School is upon the Seven Seas aboard the Rusty Barnacle, Captain Firebeard's boat. There are lessons in how to speak like a pirate; climbing the rigging; cutlass swishing and pirate history. Forget school book bags and house teams though, here pupils are assigned a parrot and their own special pirate name. Before long, the three friends are putting their newly acquired skills into practice on a daredevil quest to find the lost treasure of Mandaloo.
The book is richly illustrated by Anna Chernyshova in black, white and a fiery, neon orange - matching Captain Firebeard's unruly beard. There are full page and double page illustrations, as well as pictures alongside the text, and they perfectly capture the excitement and humour of the story.
Captain Firebeard's School for Pirates has everything you could wish for in a pirate adventure: a treasure map and buried treasure, secret codes to decipher, wooden legs, eye patches, and a zip wire made of spaghetti.

A qwerky book all about the diferent things you need to learn in order to become a pirate. My daughter loved all the different characters especially the parrot! I loved the uniqueness of the illustrations but don't think my daughter was a fan of all the orange!
