Five years after her dad died, when she was ten, Sam still struggles with her loss. When her mum starts a new relationship Sam is angry and feels abandoned. Her life is not made any easier by class bully, Tracy, who constantly taunts her. When Sam starts to visit the seaside arcades after school she quickly becomes addicted. Despite support from her friends, Helena and Rob, her handsome new boyfriend, Jamie, and her counsellor, Linda, Sam finds it difficult to break her habit. Constantly desperate for money to fuel her passion for fruit machines, she lies, steals, pawns and shoplifts.
With her life spiralling out of control, can Sam make changes before it's too late or is she in danger of losing everything?
