During a holiday sports course, Joshua and his friend, Sarah, embark on a series of spine-chilling escapades in order to discover the dreadful truth of the dark past of the manor. Some diaries, a curse and a faded message spur them on to clear the name of William Farmer, whose ghost cannot rest until justice is done. But dark forces, equally determined that the truth should never come to light, are working against them. Can the bravery and sense of morality of two young children defeat such powers of evil? All seems lost when Joshua is sent home for misbehaviour. A final attempt to reveal the facts has disastrous consequences and when Joshua eventually manages to read the message he realises that danger looms. Sarah's life is at risk and Joshua alone cannot save her. This is a magical tale of good and evil which will keep the reader captivated until the unpredictable ending.
