Little Nippers is a collection of first information books for young learners. The Is It .. strand takes the reader on a treasure hunt to find a range of familiar materials and to explore their properties. Each book sets the children a task of finding objects with contrasting properties to build up a collection for display. The series provides an opportunity for discussing materials and their characteristics and investigating texture, shape and form. The series introduces key vocabulary to help children talk about their own observations and experiences.
