A tale of two children - Cecilia, whose father is a ship builder, and Dirgan, whose father is the owner of a marine cargo transport firm. Over the course of several years Dirgan and Cecilia transition from youth to young adulthood, falling in love along the way. Separated by circumstance beyond their control they fight to reunite, and surmount many an obstacle along the way. Sometimes together, sometimes independently, they voyage by sea from Venice to Amsterdam to Oslo to Copenhagen, and finally to London.
