This book has been designed to show Key Stage 1 pupils the many different types of fruit that there are and the huge variety of ways in which we can eat fruit. Most children still think of eating fruit as just eating an apple or a banana in its raw state. The main fruits featured are apples, bananas, oranges (and easy peelers such as satsumas, clementines and mandarins), grapes (and raisins), plums (and prunes) and tomatoes. The book has full colour photographs and shows * how to use fruit in the raw state such as peeling and slicing * how to eat fruit in the cooked state such as stewed apples and custard * how we buy fruit that is processed (but still healthy) such as fruit juice and dried fruit. There are millions of ways of eating fruit and this book aims to try and capture some of that variety and show young children that eating fruit is fun. At the back of the big book are copious discussion points for teachers to use to draw out the links with D&T, PSHE, English, Mathematics and Science. The Literacy links and National Curriculum Links are also listed. It is designed to be used with the companion book "It's fun to eat vegetables"
