This children's adventure story can help children and parents deal with dying and bereavement. I choose the Western Isles as location as there is so much magic and folklore still to be found in remote places. The ever changing colours of the sky and the landscapes beneath emphasize the dramatic as well as reflective times for young people who are dying and their close friends. My main character is Paddy, a young boy with leukaemia who only has a few days left to live but gets drawn into an amazing quest to find the German Shepherd, an immortal wizard, so he can help a trapped ghost boy to be reunited with his family. With the help from his friends, he embarks on a journey which will never be forgotten.
