Can Doctor Proctor, Nilly, and Lisa save Christmas in this new fart-tastically funny adventure from worldwide bestselling author Jo Nesbo?

When the king of Norway sells the rights to Christmas to Mr Thrane, it looks like the holidays aren't going to be very merry. Mr Thrane says that the only people who can celebrate are those who buy 10,000 crowns worth of presents from his department store. For anyone who doesn't - or can't - spend that much, it's no tree, no presents, no carols, and no Christmas pudding.

Doctor Proctor, Nilly, and Lisa aren't going to take this sitting down! They're going to find Santa and save Christmas. All they need is a sleigh, flying reindeer, some time travel soap, and, of course, some fart powder!

PRAISE for the Doctor Proctor's Fart Powder series:

'This terrific book will make you laugh, and cherish your friends' - James Patterson
'plenty of toilet humour, and general silliness that kids love' - The Bookseller
'wickedly entertaining' - The Big Issue
'Lashings of silliness, quirkiness, self-deprecating humour, and a rollicking plot...' - TheBookbag.co.uk

'A superb mix of bizarre and wacky with a little bit of off-beat thrown in. Reminiscent of Roald Dahl it has all the elements to keep children hooked...' - Waterstones

This is a funny book! I really loved it because it was very fun to read.
I actually couldn't put it down. My favourite thing in the book is the nuclear car, and I liked the character Nilly the best. I would recommend it to all children my age (9) and I want to read the other Doctor Proctor books now!

I'd never read a 'Doctor Proctor' book before; this was the first and I loved it.
The book is a very silly story based on Nilly, Lisa, a I greedy businessman, Santa Claus and Doctor Proctor. The businessman - Mr Thorne - only cares about money so, when he buys Christmas from the king of Norway,  things do not look good because he makes it a rule that you can only celebrate Christmas if you buy 10,000 Crowns worth of items in one of his shops! Nilly will not even be allowed to say the words, 'Happy Christmas'. Lisa is cross about this though and she is determined to get Christmas back for everyone. So Lisa, Doctor Proctor and Nilly go to Santa Claus for help but things start to go wrong in hilarious ways.
I really enjoyed this delightful Christmas comedy and I would recommend it to anyone else who loves a funny Christmas story.

This book paints an interesting picture of commercial Christmas, I know it has been taken a bit further than what reality is like but still.

The book itself and the story was very enjoyable, we could hear our eldest laughing away manieth nights in his room whilst he was reading this on his own at bedtime. I mean who doesn't find farts funny, especially when your a young boy? :D

Story seems well written, characters are likeable minus Mr Thrane, the text flows well and it's relatively easy to read, even for nearly a seven year old.

A entertaining read with plenty of funny moments, Doctor Proctor is a wonderful mad inventor, who with two children Lisa and Nilly decided to save Christmas after it is bought by department store owner Mr Thrane who decides only people who spend lots of money can celebrate Christmas. This story cast an interesting light on the commercialism of Christmas and reminds us to enjoy the more simple things rather than lots of expensive gifts. A fun and enjoyable read.
