This is simply a fantastic book, great stories and information about knights and castles, my 5 year son is enthralled by the stories and the legends, great ideas to recreate castles in lego too.  This book really sparks the imagination and will last for a long time throughout different ages as there is so much to learn, see and do. Highly recommended. Great pictures, great information I am looking forward to some homework involving knights and castles as we now have a good source of some great information and data!

Leo couldn't wait to read this book!
He loved all of the illustrations and the many facts.
He wanted to try to create some of the structures and figures with our Lego....unfortunately we need to expand our collection!
He loved pretending to be the knights ans acting out scenes.
I think that we will keep finding new facts every time we read the book as there is so much in it.

What an excellent book! It is jam packed with information about knights and castles and is written in a very informative, entertaining way. My husband said that he had actually learned some things that he didn't already know. My son loved the Lego characters appearing throughout the book and was keen to read their dialogue. This is definitely a book that we will delve in and out of for a long time. I would been keen to look at the other books in this series.

A wonderful non-fiction text that covers the subject of knights and castles using Lego characters on each page to enhance a child's understanding, and inject a bit of humour!
I was particularly impressed with the layout of the book. Pages about what it's like to be a knight, how hard servants worked, photos of various real castles around the world, and stories about knights from history have made this a very appealing book. Both my son and daughter enjoyed looking through the book. The only problem they had was some of the pages are written in script font, looks very oldy worldy, but quite difficult for my children to read.  Other than that the book gets a big thumbs up from us. We would look out for more books like this! Perfect for boys and girls from 4 years old upwards.

We read this over several nights. Enjoyed learning new things about castles. My son enjoyed some of the (rubbish) jokes. I think that this book would be better for older children who can read it independently and then go off to build the castle and other things. It has building ideas throughout along the lines of 'build a castle with these bits, now add this and this' which is too complex for my 5 year old who has the attention span of ... a 5 year old boy! :) 5 stars given as this was an enjoyable book that i think will grow with him.

I should firstly say that my 5 year old is an absolutely Lego maniac so this was always going to have masses of appeal for him.  So far so good but as an adult this is also a really impressive book.  In hardback so it will last well and with a 3D "bobble" effect on the cover that gave it the familiar feel of a Lego brick.  It is a really good mix of photographs and cartoon Lego mini figures and covers all aspects of castle life/history.  From medieval times onwards it looks at the who's who of a castle from jesters to knights, lords & ladies. kings & queens and even birds of prey.  The mini figs "speak" throughout with a mixture of facts and jokes and it really is just great fun.  It's jam packed with information but presented in such a fun and informal way that kids will just soak up facts without even realising it.  I will definitely look out for other books in the series

This is an amazing book. It offers so much detail about Knights and Castles and the history surrounding them. The book contains a mixture of real life photos and artwork as well as lots of illustrations of medieval Lego figures. The book is very colourful and even has a textural element with the cover having a bumpy texture to mimic the feel of a giant Lego brick. This book is a great learning aid for young readers and packs in so much detail. There is even a Glossary to help explain some of the terminology used. The book also encourages Lego fans to create their own medieval builds such as a castle and everything that would go inside it. There are lots of facts and figures as well as Lego comic strips to offer comic relief. A fantastic book. We absolutely loved it!

I really enjoyed this book. I've been reading it in the car, in bed, and at school. I took it to school to show my teacher for history. There's lots of interesting information in it such as what Knights wore in the olden days, and how castles were built, as well as ideas for Lego models. This is the best book I have read this year!
