Little Florence is invited to the topmost tower of the Queen's Castle to watch the Christmas Parade with all the Queen's soldiers and with Colonel Ha-rump on his horse, Silent Symphony. There are presents for all the people and Captain Crotchet is in charge of Her Majesty's Harmonious Military Music, except that the Royal Trumpeteer has gone to the Royal Post Office to send a card to his Grandmother. But fortunately Musician Semi-Breve steps forward at the vital moment to save the day and the Queen says that it was the perfect end to a perfect day. The accompanying illustrations are beautifully and colourfully prepared by well known artist Georgina Moir.
