Information Access in Digital Libraries

Write a Review

Libraries and information centers continue to provide services in an evolving environment. The advent of information and communication technologies has enabled libraries to not only enhance traditional services, but also to develop new methods of information delivery using cutting-edge technological tools. As the information-seeking behavior of users has changed, they now demand up-to-date information from any source through any method. Therefore, the application of the latest ICTs can help meet the current information needs of stakeholders. Most sources are now published in digital formats, and the emergence of digital libraries has transformed the way information is disseminated. With digital libraries, users can access information from any location. However, access to information remains a challenge that must be addressed. This challenge can be overcome by developing digital libraries on a suitable platform. To discuss emerging issues in digital libraries, the editors invited contributors to submit useful papers, which are presented in this book. The book covers some of the emerging topics in digital libraries that are relevant to library and information professionals.
