James Matthew Barrie was born in Kirriemuir, Scotland in 1860. He originally wrote `Peter Pan' as a play and its first performance in 1904 was a hit. Barrie then adapted the play into the 1911 novel `Peter Pan and Wendy'. He was made a baronet in 1913 and awarded the Order of Merit in 1922. J. M. Barrie died in 1937.
More about Sir J. M. BarrieRobert Ingpen was born in 1936 in Geelong, Australia. He studied illustration art and book design at The Royal Melbourne Institue of Technology. In 1986 he was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his contribution to children's literature and he has been honoured with Membership of the Order of Australia.
