Wes Magee tells the boisterous adventures of Rachel, her brother Richard, Rover the dog and their friend Paul in the countryside and by the sea. Geraldine McCaughrean describes how Jilly the horse arrives at the farm, meets the other animals, and joins in their adventures. This work presents bright, lively set of stories for children around 6 years old (Year 1-2). "Variety" books provide a support and an extension of reading skills acquired from reading "Duck Green School Stories". It can be used in the Literacy Hour for shared and guided reading.
