I bought this book for my daughter after we had put out a bird feeder in the garden. She loves sitting in front of the patio doors looking out to the garden waiting to see the birds. This book is lovely and we enjoy sharing it together and listening to the different bird sounds whilst she looks outside then comes back and says "no". This is a great book if your little one is starting to show an interest in nature and wildlife

This is a really nice little hardback book. The bird songs are really accurate, and because of this my 3 year old daughter really likes it. The pictures are really good, and you can see all the details of the birds. I like the pictures because they are not photographs, which I think makes it more interesting for my daughter. Since reading the book, my daughter has become more aware of bird sounds, and tries to identify the bird from her book.

This is the sound board book that provides information, a picture and the sound of twelve British garden birds.  My children love birds and it is not too difficult to teach them different British birds by sight, or to find ways to identify birds that we have not seen before. Learning birdsong is a different matter - most formats are too complicated or detailed for even myself as an adult. This book provides a perfect basic format for interested young children (and adults!) to get to grips with the most common birds. It is not easy by amy means to learn the different songs but I believe that with this book and some perservance my children and I will manage it! There is also an accompanying book for woodland books, which I will also purchase. What an excellent book for young twitchers, I will certainly be recommending this book to my friends.

This is a fantastic book, it covers 12 of the most common garden birds with beautiful illustrations and facts about each bird. Down the side of the book is a battery operated panel featuring a button to push to hear each of the birds beautiful songs. This book is aimed at children, but I think it is a book that the whole family can enjoy and learn from.
