A charming, simple and beautifully illustrated lift-the-flap book for little children. Little fingers can lift the flaps in scenes of dark, quiet, sleepy night-time...and reveal the busy activity beneath. Scenes include owls, foxes and mice looking for food, bakers making bread for the morning and a sleeper train travelling through the night. A lovely introduction to the nocturnal world, perfect for sharing with little ones at bed time.

Loved the colourful pages, some of the flaps are delicate so I opened them. Loved how every page had a flap as my daughter got excited every time. Great story line really outlines the meaning of night time. Great to talk about after. Love stories with more meaning to them

My son’s attention was grabbed instantly when receiving this book, insisting on exploring it himself before I read it to him. Due to the sturdy format of the book, he was able to navigate through it himself and it seems like it will last, as the quality is excellent. There are elements of interactivity on each page of the book, whether it be peep through holes, a small lift flap door, or larger flap masking a bustling nighttime scene. Each of these further the narrative, or can be appreciated as standalone scenes to inspire discussion from a little one. Our particular favourite was the Bakers scene, showing the creative process of baking bread, with the beautiful illustrations allowing us both to read the images to follow the Bakers completing their different jobs. The subtle, sleepy, blue night time tones presented in the book create a true night time atmosphere perfect for settling any little one at bedtime. Loved it!

The usbourne peep inside books are a great series. My daughter really enjoys lifting the flaps, and exploring all the different sections. The books always start looks of good conversations, as the illustration are really detailed. We have had them since my daughter was young, and she is now revisiting them as she is learning to read. Most of the pages have short sentences which are perfect for her.

Charming to the extreme! A beautifully illustrated book with lots of lift the flaps exploring the mysterious world of the night. As simple storyline accompanies the detailed pictures which mixes in facts about jobs that happen at night and other things that are happening while we sleep. We really enjoyed this book and I intend to buy more of the 'peep inside' series.

My 18month old loved this book, as it was a lift the flap book, which my daughter loves getting involved with, and seeing what's under the flap. It was a nice book about the different things that are happening at night. There were lots of flaps in the book, which kept my daughter engaged.

Georgie loves this book as she is able to interact with it on every page by lifting the flaps or looking through the holes in the pages. I like that on some pages there were flaps within flaps to keep the child looking further.
I like that it is informative of what goes on while the children are asleep and how it helps us live our lives. Georgie loves identifying the animals. It certainly gives us lots to talk about.
I was a little disappointed that some of the flaps tore very easily.

We loved the way this flap booked looked at what goes on at night! Bakers baking bread, owls hunting mice and night trains!  The flaps within flaps kept Eleanor thoroughly entertained.
