Our story begins as Tourmaline’s mother goes missing on a search for precious artefacts. Desperate to find her mum, Tourmaline sets off on a quest with her two friends George and Mai to take matter into her own hands. And so begins an incredible feminist fantasy adventure, in which Tourmaline befriends a band of female pirates, finds her way through a maze of talking trees and develops strange new powers. Powers that she'll ultimately have to learn to control.

This is the series to hand anyone who loves a strong female protagonist, as well as stories by Katherine Rundell, Vashti Hardy and Abi Elphinstone.
