The books follow a young Thomas Ward who has completed his apprenticeship with the spook of the County, so he too now has the skills to banish all supernatural evils endangering his home. Throughout this spin-off series of the much-loved The Wardstone Chronicles, Tom finds himself on the paths of dangerous beasts, armies of monsters and terrifying creatures. He even gets his very own apprentice, Jenny, who has unique magical skills. The team must fight together, holding on to all the hope they have, to keep their Country safe.
