If you've watched the iconic Princess Diaries movies starring Anne Hathaway and have not yet read the books...what are you waiting for?! This fun, light and oh-so-early-2k YA series is the perfect read for all rom-com lovers.

A PRINCESS?? ME??? Yeah. Right.

When fourteen-year-old Manhattan resident Mia Thermopolis discovers she's actually Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, Princess of Genovia, her whole world turns on itself. Suddenly, she is being trailed by a bodyguard, taking princess lessons with her uncontrollable old grandmere, and having a makeover with someone called Paolo. And if all this isn't enough, she might even have to MOVE to Genovia to REIGN the country!

Throughout the series you'll get to experience coming to terms with being a princess alongside Mia, while going through the twist, turns and turmoil of being a somewhat average teenager. Join her as she figures out who her mysterious secret admirer might be, gets a boyfriend, gets stuck in a sticky love triangle, becomes victim to extreme hair cuts and pretends to be a super chill party girl. 

And join her as she also faces her various royal duties. From meeting royalty around the world, planning royal weddings, fundraising events and public functions, aka snooze fests!

If you've read and loved this series by the superstar author Meg Cabot, we recommend reading The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, Gossip Girl, Ella Enchanted, and, if you're in the mood for some mystery, Pretty Little Liars. These books have all become either hit TV shows or films and are the perfect cult reads!
