What a lovely story of friendship, growing up and bird migration. The two friends Chack the blackbird and Apollo the Swallow are parted as Apollo flies for Africa. Chack sends a message to his friend to come the tree and see the orange autumn berries... the message chases after the migrating swallows all the way to Africa... but the message changes just as with the game Chinese whispers... however the final message still has a relevance when the two reunite. Lovely lovely book … best one Sophie has read by herself (out loud to me) at this book band level.
