Meet thirteen-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine, and the star of a stylish new detective series.
Agatha Oddlow has been a detective for as long as she can remember - she's just been waiting for her first big case. And nothing gets bigger than saving the City of London from some strange goings-on.
With a scholarship to the prestigious St Regis School, a cottage in the middle of Hyde Park, a room full of beloved sleuthing novels, and a secret key that gives her access to a whole hidden side of London, Agatha is perfectly poised to solve the mystery of what's going on.  Usually I don't exactly enjoy books like these, but this one was amazing. There was a grammar mistake which drove me mad, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this book. It's pretty realistic if something like this actually did happen. I won this from a Toppsta giveaway, but I was disappointed, because it arrived when I was still on my holidays. But, this book changes your emotion pretty quickly. One moment you're happy, then you're sad. I love it!

This book turned up the day before my daughter’s birthday  I thought she may be too excited by all her gifts to read this but after reading the back she started that night . I wasn’t sure it was going to be her thing but she really enjoyed itl This her first detective book was a big hit . It is about a girl called Agatha Oddly,  she is  comes over confident and my daughter clearly identified with her.  She is desperate to solve a big case and a big case she gets.  Strange goings on in London and not knowing who to trust as nothing seems what it should be makes for an exciting read. My daughter got lost in intrigue as the clues to the mystery were worked out A great read for an age group that is ready for a bit of mystery. This book was a hit with my 10 year old girl. Now my 8-year-old son wants me to read it to him now. We would certainly read others in the series,

I gave this book to my 11 years-old cousin and she liked it very much. Having a confident female character to identify with and having the story set in a city she knows really increased her enjoyment of the book. Plus, she had a lot of fun trying to solve out the mystery along with Agatha. She would definitely read another book starring the same detective.

Agatha lives with her Dad, the gardener in Hyde Park.  She aspires to be a detective and when she witnesses a woman being knocked over in the park by a motorcyclist (in what feels like strange circumstances) she determines to solve the mystery.
Sadly school gets in the way - but she has devised a number of cunning ways to bunk off.  With the help of her best friend (and whilst trying to avoid the overbearing CCs  -  think the it girls from Clueless) she digs deeper.
Meanwhile the water supply in London has been sabotaged and has turned into a thick red goo.  Are the two events connected?
Featuring hidden tunnels under London and an emerging secret life of Agatha's Mum this book is full of intrigue and quite the page turner.

I read this book to myself and I did enjoy the story because it wasn't too over the top.
Agatha is the main person in the book and it's based in and around London, I've not long come back from a trip to London so that made it more interesting.
I would recommend the story for people aged 8 - 12 years because I'm 12 and felt at times the book was more based towards a younger person.
Still a great read for people.
