The Highland Rescue is a time slip story set in Scotland.
It is the second novel in the series The Seriously Weird Summer. Part One, called Away with the Fairies, follows the adventures of Morag, Matthew and Rory on the Black Isle.
In part two: The Highland Rescue, they end up in the 11th century. During a fishing trip at Loch Kinord, they discover something strange about the historic island in the loch. When they investigate, they are somehow transported to the the court of the Warrior King Malcolm III and his saintly wife Queen Margaret, they soon realize they might possibly be trapped in the wrong century forever.
Then Matthew faces a new dilemma entirely, which results in a life-changing experience.
