I've never read a squishy mcfluff book before but will definitely be on the look out now! My boys loved this book and I can't wait to share it at my baby and toddler group. A easy to follow story about a young girl visiting London. Love that the Queen features in it! My children liked the cat and corgi characters too. Well illustrated and an enjoyable read!

This is the first Squishy McFluff story we've read and we absolutely loved it. Ava's invisible cat gets her into such a lot of mischief and sneaking into Buckingham Palace probably would be on all of our lists, if we had the chance too!
We loved the rhyming text and the silliness within the book...my girls giggled at the thought of the queen choosing her corgi's food from a menu!
It's a lovely book for children who love using their imagination and we can't wait to find the rest of the series to read.

With a royal baby due this was a fun book to share with my children.
Fab pictures and a lovely rhyming story which my 3 year old asked me to re-read several times in a row!
Highly recommended.

Me and my daughter enjoyed this book a lot. A lovely tale about a little girl who goes to London and meets the queen with her invisible cat. I liked the flow of this book with its rhyming. The pictures are well drawn with a classical feel to them. Very good to show children having invisible friends and showing how it’s apart of imagination.

This is a wonderful book about how an imaginary cat called Squishy McFluffy manages to meet the Queen. The book is written in rhyme, which makes it a joy to read out aloud. The illustrations are fab! My kids enjoyed this book thoroughly. If your child is around 6, then they can  probably read the book themselves as the text is targeted at children.

This book is nice to read as it rhymes, he liked the idea of a cat that the queen could not see. I don’t think this book is great for babies though as no interactive parts to the book. Would say the age range would be more 2+

We loved the illustrations throughout the book and the humour in the storyline. It reminded me of David Walliams Gangster Granny at times. An easy and flowing story which led to me discussing less fun subjects, such as safety and appropriate behaviour, as generally in life, if you wander if in a dreamy state, you are probably not going to be encountering the queen for a nice cup of tea, as sadly there will be many other characters you would realistically meet before coming face to face with Lizzy!

This is a lovely, slightly whimsical, story about a little girl who goes on a trip to London with her invisible cat. My daughter loves stories about queens and palaces and particularly liked the fact that the cat met a corgi! The whole story is very sweet and really kept her attention and interest.

Squishy McFluff: Tea With the Queen is the story of Ava and her invisible cat who go off on an adventure whilst her family are preoccupied in London. The children couldn't wait to read this book after they saw a cat and crown on the cover! They enjoyed seeing all the fun things that Ava and Squishy McFluff got up to in the earlier pages of the book but some of them lost interest once the Queen came in as sadly the cat seemed to have been forgotten in the storyline from then on. He was still mentioned and supposed to be a main part of the story but with so much else going on in the pictures he was no longer the fun cat he started the book as which was a shame. It would've been nice to have seen Squishy McFluff get up to some mischief as he's invisible and I'd expect a cat to explore. Seeing the Queen in the story was a talking point for the children though and we had a lovely discussion about the royals, guards and very British things! The characters in the story are very interesting with Squishy McFluff being a fun and mischievous cat which the children loved although they found it hard to get that he was invisible as he looked visible enough to them! Ava is a great inquisitive character that helped us learn a bit more about the Queen but also one who was irresponsible leaving her family for very petty reasons and had no consequences to her actions and the Queen who all the children loved as she had a sparkly crown on. The illustrations in the book are lovely and the details in the London landmarks were particularly nice and allowed us to talk about all the different things the children could see. Most of them hadn't been to London so seeing a huge palace and a very tall clock was fascinating to them and once getting to the Queen the illustrations were very Royal and pretty for the children to see. They loved seeing the delicious tea with the Queen and choosing what they would want to eat. Overall most children were really happy reading this story but the conversations it prompted were enjoyed by all the children as it allowed us to think about topics that wouldn't usually come up in conversation like the royals and London.

My little ones enjoyed this book and the illustrations are lovely. It's about a girl who visits London with her parents and invisible cat. One day she wanders off when her cat sees the Corgi dog and finds herself in front of the Queen. The Queen likes the girl with her great imagination and invites her for tea. My girl loved the crowns at the end and the big feast laid on the table.

A cute book about a little girl with an imaginary friend who is her pet cat. They enjoy playing together and then travel to London to see the sights. But they are bored waiting for the parents to give her little sister a snack so they wander off to see the queen. As a parent I then had to explain several times throughout the rest of the story that it is not appropriate to wander off - ever- certainly not in a strange city! and go into a stranger's house... etc... We compared her to Goldilocks and how she nearly got eaten by bears when she wandered off. But I think this story is more 'real' to children as it is a modern kid in a real place that they might have heard off/ been to before - making it seem ok to do the same.
