This teaching card is part of Bug Club, the first whole-school reading programme that joins books with an online reading world to teach today's children to read.
SUMMARISING
Ask children to read the first verse in pairs then discuss who is talking, where they are and what they are looking at. Share the children's summaries. Move on to the second verse and again ask the children to summarise the events before agreeing them as a group.
