This was a brilliant book! It's a tale about Louis and how his parents take away all their electronic devices because his little brother can't concentrate at school- i know, madness right?!

He and his little brother work as a team to get the ban lifted and work out what their parents secrecy has all been about- their discovery is shocking!!

I found this book exciting, maddening at times and absolutely hilarious! The back cover didn't lie- i couldn't stop laughing!

This book is in diary form so if you got on with 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' or 'The Dork Diaries', then this book is a must for you. Funny like Jeremy Strong or David O'Doherty, this book offers up the laughs too- i urge you to give it a read.

This is such a brilliant book! It's funny, vibrant and you can't really put it down Louis and his little brother struggle when their parents unplug them from electronic world in an effort to be a better family. No phones, tablets, internet ! You can image their shock when they can't play their favourite computer games, or talk to friends. As Louis said he felt like he was living  in some weird sect and he wish to be adopted by anyone with a good broadband connection The whole story starts with introduction to their life before the change. We meet a Legendary Comic - Louis the Laugh, his gorgeous agent and girlfriend Maddy, his a little bit "crazy parents" and lots of other characters that you will fall in love with
The book shows the power of friendship, love and the importance of family relationships:)
We love this book and we highly recommend it to all parents and teenagers who wish to remind themselves how lucky they are to have each other

A fantastic diary style book that made my daughter think about how she doesn't need gadgets to have fun. This book inspired our family to play more board games and get outside more.

I liked the idea of this book, because I thought my parents could do with some updating. This book is really good because it is funny and I really liked the main character.  In the book, the boy's father decided to have a technology ban for five weeks, so the boy, Louis, decided that he would update his parents and teach them about the video games that he plays. His girlfriend tries to help him get out of his troubles by staying at his house instead of going to America with her parents.  If you like funny books you will like this!!

A life without technology! It's the sort of thing most of us would have nightmares about. So a book about what happens to a family when they try "the big switch off" in an attempt to become a better, closer, more well rounded family is certainly relatable. Both of my children found the book funny and the characters likeable. It wasn't too much of a complicated read and kept us interested throughout the story.

We liked reading this book. The boys could thoroughly relate to poor Louis predicament of a complete technology ban as I often cry 'no more screen time!'

Louis and his brother face a technology ban as his parents attempt to go back to basics and encourage more board games and jigsaw playing. Louis and his brother, Elliot, are outraged and set about trying to over turn this decision.

Along the way we delve into the modern world of vlogging, meet a family mediation coach and wonder if Louis will be able to prevent his girlfriend, Maddy, from moving to America.

This book is written in diary form and has illustrations throughout to add to the comic nature of the story.

I am sure this would appeal to boys and girls aged 8+.

I liked the fact that the book is about a normal boy and he’s describing the funny stuff that happens in his life. Especially things to do with his parents. I also like the way it is written a bit like a vlog diary.
I could relate to the main character Louis. He likes computer games too and his parents don’t get it either!!
