i was looking forward to reading this when I knew it was about diggers and the construction site, as boys like this sort of thing. I really enjoyed the book and loved looking at the pictures which were great. It was a rhyming story as well, which was good, and I enjoyed picking out the rhyming words with my mom. It's a nice book to read before bedtime, but I would read it anytime. My little sister who is 1 enjoyed it as well.

This is a well crafted and well written book, possibly longer than many similar books for the pre school age group but I think that is a bonus! It tells of how each piece of machinery on the construction site has been working hard all day and is now ready for bed and featured rhyming prose which helps to maintain an interesting rhythm. It is nicely and thoughtfully illustrated (I especially like the crane truck sleeping with a teddy!). My little boy loved the book, is is crazy about all types of large machinery and this appealed to him visually as well as aurally.

This is fantastic book for bedtime reading. My 2 1/2 year old daughter absolutely loves it and wants it read to her every night. The story introduces many of the construction vehicles found on a building site. My daughter finds the story very relaxing and happily snuggles up in bed as the construction vehicles go to sleep. I find the story enjoyable to read as it is rhythmic and rhyming and both myself and my daughters think the illustrations are wonderful.

This was a lovely bedtime story.  This is a story about diggers and construction vehicles but they are all settling down to sleep after a hard days work so it is lovely and calming.  Even those big strong machines need a good rest to recharge their batteries, just like children.  My boys loved the rhyming nature of the book and it was easy to read calmly and quietly to wind down before bed.  The illustrations were also calm and muted which fitted the tone of the book perfectly.
