From David Baddiel, the brightest new star of children's books and winner of the LOLLIES award, comes a laugh-out-loud adventure for every child who ever wondered what it might be like to be a bit of an animal...
Malcolm doesn't like animals.
Which is a problem because his family love them. Their house is full of pets. What the house is NOT full of is stuff Malcolm likes. Such as the laptop he wanted for his birthday.
The only bright spot on the horizon is the Year Six school trip, which Malcolm never thought his parents would pay for. And yet there he is, on the bus, heading to... oh no. A farm.
Over the next days, Malcolm changes. He learns a lot about animals. More, in many ways, than he would like. He learns what it's really like to be an animal. A whole series of animals, in fact...
It does make him think differently. And speak differently. And eat differently. And, um, smell differently. But will he end up the same as before?
Because sometimes the hardest thing to become is... yourself.

A story about Malcolm and his animal obsessed family. Now being animal obsessed is ok, unless your’e Malcolm. You see, Malcolm has a dislike for animals (crazy i know) but each to their own. So you can imagine the horror when he finds out that his year 6 school trip is to……THE FARM!!!

Now you have to feel sorry for poor Malcolm at this point, the poor boy has to spend the next few days surrounded by the thing he dislikes most in his life BUT how will he feel once hes spent a few days AS the animals?! Yep poor Malcolm somehow ends up as the animals… looks… smells… acts like all the different animals hes surrounded by, at the end of the trip will Malcom become his animal disliking self or a new animal loving Malcolm? Only a read of this book will tell you because we definitely wont spoil this must read book for you!

This book had me in fits of laughter, at one point i asked my Mum ‘Could you imagine being a Cat or a Monkey?! Might be fun at first until it comes to bath time!’ made me think for a second until i saw our own cat having a wash!

It was an easy read, easy to get into and easy to pick up again once i had put it down. The little drawings kept me entertained and my little sister (aged 2 ) made all the animal noises along the way. I also enjoyed the numbered after thoughts at the bottom of the pages, i also love to know if penguins can understand pigeon?!?

I would definitely recommend it to all my friends (both boys and girls as its certainly one for them all) and I’ve also asked if i can get David’s other books for Christmas!

THIS BOOK IS  REALLY COOL AND INTERESTING. I LIKE HOW THE BOY  TURNS  INTO  AN ANIMAL  AND HE MEETS OTHER TORTOISES AND HE  CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY’RE SAYING. AT THE START IT’S A BIT DISSAPOINTING THAT A LIST OF A COMPUTER WAS DESTROYED BY A PET COLLECTION AS THE FAMILY LOVE ANIMALS. THE PARENTS CANT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND HE DOESN’T LIKE ANIMALS . WHEN MALCOM FINDS THAT THERE IS A SCHOOL TRIP HE  GETS EXCITED AND HAPPY AND SAYS HE WANTS TO GO BUT WHEN HE GETS THERE HE FINDS IT IS A WEEK ON A FARM. HE ONLY WANTED TO GO BECAUSE THE FAMILY WERE ANNOYING HIM AND KEPT  GETTING IN HIS WAY JUST TO LOOK AT THE CHINCHILLA. I HAVE READ PARENT AGENCY AND PERSON CONTROLLER BY DAVID BADDIEL AND I ENJOYED THIS AS MUCH AS THOSE. I HOPE DAVID BADDIEL WRITES MANY MORE BOOKS FOR CHILDREN.

This is a book about  a boy who lives in a family full of animal lovers and pets. He himself dislikes animals and when he finds himself on a three day school trip to a farm the outcome is quite surprising! I liked this book because you really feel how all the characters are feeling and you feel like you are there and part of the story.

Amazing book!!! I've read all of his books and find them humorous and interesting. I like how Malcolm changes into animals which is a very imaginative twist to the story.
I am a big fan of David Baddiels and I hope he continues to write more.

AMAZING,this is an awesome book and is my favourite book of his by far.I loved how he made Malcom into different animals and each time he learned a different "language".I liked it when he was a sheep with the three Dolly's and when he was a pig and rode on the horses back.

l liked this book because I like animals and it would be really cool to turn into an animal. I also liked the new Pet that Malcom  got on his birthday. Though for my birthday I would want a computer and that pet. I think that Malcolm should be happy that he kept turning into animals whenever he slept near them. My favourite animal he changed into was the cat. For a friend id rate this book 5 stars

Megan really enjoyed this book ...it is her first David Baddiel book so now she wants to read his other stuff .She loved the fact how Malcom didnt even like animals at the beginning and thought he was hard done to in his house which was full of animals .He learns how to act and be like other animals after a school visit to a farm and it gives him a different outlook at the end of the book

I liked this book a lot. It's about a boy called Malcolm who hates animals. One day he goes to a farm for a three day trip and starts talking to a goat. It's while he is there he starts turning into different animals.
It was an interesting story line and I have really enjoyed the other books by this author
My sister is also reading this at the same time. We have to take turns it's so good

I have liked David Baddiel books before so I was excited to read this book. I did enjoy it but not as much as the Parent Agency. I laughed out loud a few times and I thought the idea of the book was cool. My cousin read it and he said he loved it.

We've loved all of David Baddiel's other books but sadly we couldn't get into this one. Harry found the story a bit confusing and just wasn't immediately taken into it as he has been before. A shame but we will read more by this author.
