Andrea Cheng teaches English as a second language in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lives with her husband and three children. Honeysuckle House is based in part on the experiences of her children. She is also the author of the novels Marika , The Lace Dowry , Eclipse , and The Bear Makers .
More about Andrea ChengCaldecott Medalist Ed Young is the illustrator of more than eighty books for children, seventeen of which he has also written. Born in Tientsin, China, he grew up in Shanghai and later moved to Hong Kong. As a young man, he came to the United States on a student visa to study architecture but turned instead to his love of art.
