The grandpa in this book is truly brilliant. He builds fantastic sandcastles, he makes wonderful flower arrangements, and he's very, very, very patient. He's got an amazing bike, he's a terrific dancer and he knows all about first aid ... in fact there's very little this astounding grandpa can't do. The book ends, "It's great to have a grandpa like mine. He's amazing!" And no one can argue with that!

Nick Butterworth was born in North London in 1946 and grew up in a sweet shop in Essex. He now lives in Suffolk with his wife Annette and they have two grown-up children, Ben and Amanda. The inspiration for the Percy the Park Keeper books came from Nick's many walks through the local park with the family dog Jake.
