We thoroughly enjoyed this time travelling adventure. It's fast paced and really exciting. The style is easy to read and absolutely captivating. We can't wait to read the next instalment in Freddie's adventures; where on Earth will he travel to next?

This is an amazing book. Alex and I decided that we would read a chapter a night - me reading to him. We haven’t done this in years. It has been such a treat. The book has fabulous geographical facts, a great modern storyline, a bit of love interest and some great action scenes. Really sets you for more to come from Clive Mantle as an author. We had to read the last four chapters last night in one sitting as Alex is away on a school trip and HAD to know the ending before he went. Sign of a great book - and give that I have just gone back to work, have a manic four year old and life is full on, more credit to the book that I happily read four chapters in one go to find out what happened myself. Recommended - get this book!

My son was thrilled when this book arrived in the post and began reading it immediately. He didn't put it down until he had finished the entire book, in one sitting! Truly captivating! He tells me that it is a story if a time traveller which is so powerful, he imagined it as though he was travelling alongside Freddie Malone. His travels begun after receiving a special gift for his 13th birthday..a map from his uncle. My son loved so many elements of this book, including the mention of familiar geographical locations such as Mount Everest. He tells me that bullying is also covered in this story, as one of Freddie's friends experiences it. This is accompanied by advice for those experiencing it, which is just fantastic.

A super action packed adventure story! Freddie is given a map of the world as a birthday present. A few days later when his friend Connor visits, he discovers that the map has in fact allowed Freddie to time travel to Nepal to help rescue historical relics. Against this backdrop, the boys must navigate bullying and young love. A great start to what looks likes it will be a fantastic book series.

As twins who love the Hardy Boys and won’t be deviated, they both loved this book.Fabulous adventure book that has inspired my boys to agree to more exciting holidays so watch this space! Great story line and helped encourage them on a recent scouting trip where they took it turns to ready this as all phones were banned!

We shared the reading of this book. My son enjoyed it because of it being an exciting, adventure book. It is a few steps up from the Sea Quest and Beast Quest books, thus for a slightly older, more competent reader. There was a lot to talk about with this book whilst we were reading it and after we had finally finished it. It raises some interesting issues surrounding bullying (Freddie, the central character's friend, Connor is being bullied. The bullies at the end of the book are seen having got their just deserts.) Moreover, there is an awful lot of general knowledge to talk about and take in ,mostly surrounding Everest (facts gone into more detail at the end of the book). Overall, an excellent book. I will be interested where Clive Mantle takes his characters to next time.

I enjoyed the factual side of the book, the references to Everest and base camp are interesting. My son found the story a bit slow at times and I felt it was repetitive.  Saying that, it was an ok read. Would have been better if the author had concentrated more with the adventure side.
