A brilliantly funny picture book about what happens the night before Christmas Eve - from the bestselling author of Oi Frog!

'Twas the night before the night before Christmas (That's Christmas Eve Eve).
And Santa was wiping his brow on his sleeve.
Green elves were sewing, Blue elves were counting, Red elves were carving,
The pressure was mounting! It's the day before Christmas Eve and Santa is ever so busy ... he's got presents to wrap, reindeer to wake and a sleigh to start. But has he forgotten something? And, more importantly, will he be ready in time? Inspired by Clement C. Moore's classic festive poem, this hilarious, rhyming picture book is sure to have you ho ho ho- ing!

The Night Before The Night Before Christmas is a great festive story following Santa and his elves from Christmas Eves Eve up until the big day itself. The children were very excited to read this book as it had Santa on the cover and any book they see Santa on they're desperate to read!
The children loved that book showed Santa and his elves getting ready for Christmas Eve and with so much more detail than any other book I've read was nice as they enjoyed watching all the elves make toys, fill bags and send Santa off on his way. The illustrations are fantastic and with all the details of the images it gave the children lots to talk about. They had a great time deciding which toy off Santa's toy shelves they want for Christmas! The children's favourite part of the book was seeing Santa's humongous sack of presents and there eyes lit up once they saw how many presents Santa had in his sack and it looked so realistic to them with the vast amount of presents Santa delivers in a night.
The children loved the characters in the book as they seem to preference any book that has Santa and reindeers in s it makes them excited for Christmas and it got them thinking about Santa and started conversations with the other children about when they've visited Santa at Christmas light switch ons, garden centres, the Nativity etc. which was nice to hear them share their experiences. They enjoyed seeing what all the elves got up to which is different from other books when they tend to be busy in the background and were amused by seeing them getting up to mischief and concerned when they are one having a rest!
Although I was a bit disappointed by the ending and was unsure whether the Pre-School children would understand it most of the children thought it was brilliant and they shared "my daddy does that!" Overall this is a great book and it's nice to have a book that's funny throughout which amused the children and made them very excited for Christmas.

This is our new favourite Christmas picture book. It's got all the elements that make for a perfect Christmas story; a bouncy rhythm and rhyme, elves, Santa and a problem to be solved. The illustrations are just delightful and take you into Santa's world of twinkling lights and presents galore. A must read for anyone who has young children....or is a child at heart.
