The plain colours and simple illustrations make these books a great first picture book for children. They also work well for children who are learning to read as the language is simple and there aren't many words. The books are fast moving and fun, and always a bit silly.

It is a lovely little story describing the characters of Meg the witch and her cat Mog. My son loves this book due to the bright colours and simple sentences used. He enjoys joining in with the book as he has memorised much of the wording.

This is the first of the Meg and Mog books that my children have been read and they loved it! The wording is very simple and it follows the routine of Meg and Mog. This story has everything that a young reader would look for in a book.

The bold, bright illustrations captured my daughter's attention immediately! She enjoys examining the pictures - which gives me a chance to build her vocabulary and discuss what she sees.
The prose is short and sweet; very easy to read and perfect for younger children as their attention span can last until the end.
I like the simple plot of a daily routine (albeit a witch's): from waking up and dressing to breakfast and leaving the house. The addition of meeting her fellow witches to cast a spell makes the story interesting for little listeners!
Lovely little book that we visit most days at the moment!

The Meg and Mog books are a fantastic series, which my three have all loved since they were very young. The eye catching illustrations are bold and bright. The stories, although simple, are full of adventure and excitement. There should be a space for one of these books on every toddler's bookshelf!

We were gifted the Meg and Mog collection  I have to say I think their appeal is purely driven by nostalgia! I enjoy the bold illustrations and my children like the fact there are 10 books that are similar but personally I don't really get the attraction. They also prefer me to read other books to them as they lack a storyline and don't seem to have endings either!
