When a little boy's ball disappears down a mysterious hole in the garden, he can't stop thinking about what could be down there - a little mouse's house? The lair of a hungry troll? Or maybe even a dragon's den. Whatever it may be, he's determined to find out! The Something is a glorious imaginative adventure from Rebecca Cobb, the award-winning creator of Aunt Amelia and Lunchtime , and illustrator of The Paper Dolls , written by Julia Donaldson.

Lots of appealing illustrations that are beautifully draw. We had this book on CD once and I was not keen but the illustrations really make the story. A child loses their ball down a hole in the garden. They and everyone they know imagines what could be down there. It was a great story to get our imaginations going about what could be there and we loved the pictures that showed both above ground and below ground on one page.

This a beautifully illustrated story and really captured my children's imagination. The little girl in the story finds a hole underneath a tree in her garden and her friends and family help to decide what lives in it. We loved trying to guess along with the little girl and the ending really did surprise us!

My kids really enjoyed this book. A boy finds a hole in his garden and he asks all his family how the hole appeared and what was down it. They all came up with different imaginative ideas; fox home, rabbit hole, a dragon lives in it..... The boy decides to stay up all night to see if whatever it is comes out. My boy loved the ending and all the different possibilities of what loved down the hole. Lovely illustrations.
