Ellie returns to States via New York to visit Alice. Ellie promises take her to Boston as soon as she's a bit more financially secure. Ellie returns to Boston and sets up a store of her own, helped by Zak. The store takes off and she is asked by Mr Samuel to design his new range and go to Paris. Zak who is on business in London arrives and there may be romance on the cards. Business flourishes, the designs are a wow, but Alice, who has lost patience waiting to go to Boston runs away. Ellie feels she must search for her. Johnny Sheerin comes to visit and Ellie finally has to choose.
