It follows the emotional development of Paul Morel, torn between his passionate love for his mother and his romantic friendships with two young women, Miriam and Clara. D. H. Lawrence (1885 - 1930) is one of the most important writers of the twentieth century. Many regard Sons and Lovers as his greatest masterpiece.
