Designed as a text to support student teachers in training, this book focuses on the key skills of teaching modern foreign languages. The book will help students and teachers to develop a personal approach to language teaching, and to choose the most effective and appropriate methods to help pupils towards gaining relevant knowledge, skills and understanding. Chapters cover teaching grammar and cultural awareness, assessment in modern foreign languages teaching and learning, developing the use of the target language, and using new technology in classroom situations. Examples are given in French, German and Spanish, although most are transferable to other languages.
