"Rumours of the King" is a brilliant new trilogy of allegorical tales which very loosely mirror the gospel of Mark. The stunning covers convey a sense of mystery to whet the appetite for the stories, which are crammed full of adventure and excitement. "Out of the Shadows" is the super opening book which sets the scene with a dragon, human sacrifice, a mysterious stranger, and the rescue of a maiden in distress. The questions and tensions build and readers will be left hungry for the next installment. Using simple language which will tempt even reluctant readers, the books encourage children to look at the person of Jesus from a new perspective. They will find there can be a sense of challenge and adventure in being a disciple. A great read in the popular fantasy genre which will appeal especially to boys of this age group.
