You'll find a whole lot of family junk stored in the average attic, but might you also find a goffin? George's grandma is ill, so he and his mum and dad have moved into her house to look after her. George is bored, lonely and resentful towards his family. But then he discovers the Goffins - Lofty and Eave - two creatures who live secretly in grandma's attic. They have used all the family's old junk to create a home for themselves, but George soon finds out it can tell him about his ancestors as well - with a little help from his new friends. They have a strange way of talking - and an even stranger way of procuring food! But as they show George more and more of their rooftop world, they teach him to be more confident and caring, which makes for a much happier family life.
