George is bored, lonely and resentful towards his family. But then he discovers the Goffins - Lofty and Eave - two creatures who live secretly in grandma's attic. They have used all the family's old junk to create a home for themselves, but George soon finds out it can tell him about his ancestors as well - with a little help from his new friends. They have a strange way of talking - and an even stranger way of procuring food!
