The combined material in the books for years 9 and 10 has been written to meet the needs of Stages 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 of the NSW syllabus. The content is arranged in a sequential manner. Stage 5 outcomes are listed at the beginning of each chapter. These relate directly to syllabus requirements. To facilitate the continuum of the K -10 syllabus the outcomes from the previous stage ( stage 4 ) are also shown. Level 2 : These questions are designed to develop the rules and concepts of the section. They contain more substantial questions, questions involving more than one step, explanations, applications involving the new concepts and links to previous sections. Students mastering questions in this level should have the necessary background to attempt the 2-unit Mathematics course at stage 6.
