I read this to my 8 year old daughter, and she really enjoyed the characters in this book.  Griffin is a great characters, his life takes a very unexpected turn when his Mum is plunged into a sink hole.  He is then sent to live with his estranged Uncle and his family.  The jewelled jaguar refers to an Aztec knife that Griffin's mum discovered many years ago...or did she?  My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the plot, and it ends on several cliffhangers for the chapters.  A great read, perfect for or a boy or girl aged 8+.

From the first chapter I was sucked right into this story (ha ha, pun intended!). A hole has opened up outside Griffin's house and his mum had been sucked in. Fortunately, he dives in and saves her. His mum is so injured that he has to go live with his strange uncle and aunt in their weird broken down house. The worst bit is his mean cousin Cinnamon.

Griffin's mum discovered a valuable Aztec knife, the Jewelled Jaguar which is returning to Pembrokeshire when all the trouble begins.

'The Jewelled Jaguar' is a great story to read. It's a real page-turner with memorable characters and an intriguing mystery to solve. It reminded me of reading a modern day Enid Blyton story.
I will definitely be reading the other books by Sharon Tregenza. I can't wait!

This is an awesome book where Griffin Tudor has to go and stay with his cousins after an accident happens to his mother and she is in a coma. His cousin, Cinamon does not like him but when he saves her from death she comes around! There is a lot of adventure and mystery. The story is not about animals but about a jewelled Aztec knife.

I would recommend this to other 9 - 12 year olds.

I liked the main character in the book, a boy called Griffin. His mum got sucked into a giant sink hole, and got hurt very badly. So Griffin had to stay with his Aunt and Uncle and Horrible cousin Cinnamon. They go on an awesome adventure. I liked all the action in this book. The text was a good size and easy to read, and the length of the book wasn’t too long.

This book is about a boy called Griffin, whose mother goes missing and has to go into hospital. Griffin has to go to this Aunt and Uncles and Cousin's house to stay.  Griffin and his cousin go to a museum and get involved in a mystery. Someone wants to steal the jewelled jaguar, and Griff and his cousin have to stop them. I enjoyed this book because it was about mysteries.

I liked this book because I like adventure stories. It's not a story about big cats but a Aztec Knife, it is however adventure filled.  It is about a boy called Griffin Tudor who's mum was hurt by a hole that opened up under his house and she is put into coma. He then has to go to stay with his aunt, uncle and cousin Cinnamon at their house. His cousin doesn't want him there. Then when he and his cousin find out that there is secret tunnels under the house the adventure really begins. I won't tell you anymore of the story, you will just have to read it but I will say it is a good read. It's a good book with lots of descriptions and short chapters. I would recommend this to my friends.
