I read it to Little One aged 2 aged 2
Snow Bears 9781406332018

This is a lovely story all about a bear and her cubs. Mummy bear joins them outside to play and states that her cubs look like snow bears and that's when the story begins. Her cubs take on the role of snow bears and they all have lots of fun in the snow. It's a lovely read in that mummy bear joins in with their play and when it gets too cold the cubs return home. As the snow melts from their coats the cubs reveal that they were actually the snow bears "We were playing tricks" they announce. Waddell is a very talented author who captures the innoncence of a child well in this story. The responses the cubs give are so child like and make it an even more delightful read for little ones.

Mummy bear comes out to play with her children, but finds three small snow bears instead.... they dont look like her baby bears (although their answers to questions give their true identities away from the beginning, with mummy playing along)...... but they love to play just the same games. A lovely tale of a caring family. Very endearing with beautiful illustrations of fun days in the snow.  We read it alongside a "snowman" making art session at our local kids centre.

This is a beautiful classic we revisit frequently - especially in the winter as the subject matter is perfect for cosying up with my own children to.
Pretty illustrations accompany to sweet story of Mother Bear playing with Snow Bear cubs as she tries to "find" her own baby bears.
My son especially enjoys the cheeky cubs in disguise denying that they've seen themselves.

Lovely story about a mother bear who pretends that the bear cubs she finds covered in the snow are not her babies, they go along with this until it gets too cold and they want hot toast by the fire. A charming storyline with some great illustrations.
