Claude and Sir Bobblysock think they've caught a burglar coming down the chimney on Christmas Eve. They clap on the handcuffs and turn on the lights. Oh no! It isn't a burglar - it's none other than Santa Claus! Now the key for the handcuffs is lost and it's up to our two heros to deliver all the presents before midnight...Claude was selected for the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize, the Richard and Judy Book Club and is soon to be a TV star on Disney Junior with 52 episodes airing in 2017. Alex T. Smith was the World Book Day Illustrator 2014. Praise for Claude: '...illustrated with humour and elegance...' The Times

This was promptly declared 'awesome', mostly because Sir Bobblysock is deemed utterly hilarious, especially given his choice of accessories. Fun to read, fab illustrations, loved the silver cover which felt very Christmassy. A definite must-read for us!

Give me a 6th star to light up for this book! Amazing!! WE LOVE the Claude series have bought and read quite a few now. They are great for children that are getting in to reading and have short attention spans as the stories are short and full of great illustrations. #
this book, Santa Claude came as a hard back and looked fantastic. It has a great illustration on the frobt of Claude in a santa's sleigh.
The story starts out, as always with Mr and Mrs shiney shoes leaving the house. This means that Claude can get up to mischeif!
after taking a look back at Claude's day he gets in to bed and starts to read his book. Claude hears footsteps coming from downstairs so he pops down to have a look! He bumps into the 'Big man' downstairs but thinking he was a burgalar he quickly puts on a set of handcuffs he had been given from PC Anne Cuffs! The story then gfoes on to tell the tale of how santa manages to deliver all his presents with a set of handcuffs on!
The girls loved the humour in this book and especially love 'Sir Bobblysocks' (Claude's friend) . Sir Bobblysocks dresses up in different costumes throughout the book and the girls loved turning the page to see what he was dressed up in next and what he was up to.
The story is an easy story to read and me and Scarlett co read it the first time as the narrative is quite simple.  It is humourous and like the rest of the Claude series it's a little bit quirky! The illustrations are fantastic and really compliment the narrative.
We keep a look out for all the new releases of the Claude series so are eagerly awaiting the next!

This is a beautifully illustrated book and the story equally engaging and enjoyable.
We won this book as part of a giveaway and had never read any of the Claude books before.
It begins with Claude being left alone on Christmas eve about to read a book and going through some of the people he helped that day. The names of the characters made me laugh a lot reading it to my children which to me is good in any children's book.
Then in a moment it hilarity some how Claude handcuffs Santa to a chair and can't find the key!
Cue Claude and sir bobbleysock to the rescue!
Loved it and so did my little girl who also enjoyed reading sections of the book.
We'll definitely look for more Claude books in the future!

My favourite dog and his sock sidekick, Sir Bobblysock, are back in a festive adventure.  Upon hearing a strange noise in their chimney, Claude and Sir Bobblysock waste no time in clapping handcuffs on the intruder before he has time to cause any mischief.  Unfortunately, the intruder is none other than Father Christmas himself.  Even more unfortunately, Claude may have lost the key to release him. Can Claude and Sir Bobblysock deliver all the presents in time and save Christmas?  We love, love, love these books.  Full of hidden humour for adults as well as tonnes of laughs for kids.

It was funny when Claude thought the banging was a burglar and it was actually Father Christmas. I thought it was a bit funny when Claude got stuck in PC Ann Cuffs cat flap, when he was trying to help Santa because he had got Santa handcuffed to a chair.
Sir Bobblysock is very funny when he put hair curlers in his sock when he hasn't got hair.
I liked the pictures because they were bright colours and really funny.
This book made me feel all funny and I giggled lots. I think children would like this book who like giggling.

The arrival of this book caused great excitement as Maddison loves Christmas books and she was instantly drawn to this book by its enticing cover, she couldn't wait to read it.  Maddison is 8 years old and a very confident reader so she read the book to me.  We loved how descriptive the book was and Maddison really liked the different fonts and sizes of text used on some of the pages.  She loved Claude and Sir Bobblysock and we loved looking for him on each page.  The story was funny and kept her engaged throughout.  It was quite a long book so she didn't read it all in one go but she has read it at least 5 times since we have had it as it makes her laugh.  This book was a huge hit and Maddison can't wait to read more adventures of Claude and Sir Bobblysock (and neither can I!).

We received this book just in time for Christmas so it was fun to read a few pages each night on the run up to Christmas about how Claude and Sir bobblysock saved christmas. The children found it very funny and it was equally engaging for me as a grown up. The story was well illustrated with fun character. We hadn't read a Claude book before but we enjoyed it and will definitely be reading some more.

This was our first Claude book that we have read and we really enjoyed it.  I have read it to my 5 year old and she had read it back to me.  Claude is very funny and gets into lots of mischief. We have enjoyed reading particularly around Christmas time.  This would make a lovely present for a 5-7 year old.  The illustrations are lovely and the story is quirky and funny for children and adults alike.  Review by Mum + 5 year old.

Claude the dog, is best friends with a sock (which is alive) called Sir Bobblysock! One night Claude's owners go out and he thinks he hears a burglar. He ties the burglar up but later he discovers the burglar is actually Santa Claus!  Claude has to deliver all the presents but can he get home before Claude's owners come back home? I liked this book because it is a very funny story and the author has used a lot of imagination.

Nice book. It basically follows the tale of Claude and Sir Bobblysock who have to deliver all of the festive gifts on Christmas eve after they manage to handcuff Santa and lose the key! Nice pics and very festive!

Guaranteed Claude quality! Funny, definitely quirky and a very pleasant read for youngsters, we read this together with our nearly 5 and 6 year olds and they found it very entertaining. Illustrations are great to give a bit of umpf to the story and it's not long at all, we finished the book as bed time reading in 2 nights.
Includes some a bit more unusual words for kids so perhaps true audience might be a bit older kids, around the age bracket of 7+ but none the less very entertaining and funny!
