This book is perfect for KS2/3.  It is beautifully illustrated and contains lots of interesting facts about 100 women who have made history.  It is broken down into categories of Creatives, Scientists, Campaigners, Leaders, Entrepreneurs and Achievers.  Is bright, eye catching and with short bursts of information it has reluctant reader appeal. In fact there is something of interest for everyone.  Thank you so much for sending us a review copy it will make a great addition to our school library.

A truly inspiring book to read to my children. My daughter especially loves books about the life stories of real people and this book pays tribute to some very special women indeed. Divided into six sections: clued up creatives, super scientists, inspiring campaigners, leading ladies, intrepid entrepreneurs and amazing achievers. The children really enjoyed reading this book and I know that it's a book we shall all return to reading again and again. Crammed full of wonderful information, this book is a great addition to our home library.

There’s no denying that our young women have some stunningly good role models to look up to. There’s a rich herstory of game-changing women across all fields of life. The key is re-writing the history books to bring these women to the surface and celebrate them as they deserve. And that’s where books like these come in to play. Amazing Women and 100 Women Who Made History from DK Publishing are fantastic resources. They are accessible, fun and packed with information.
What impressed me the most about these books is the sheer range of women, topics and fields covered. There is something here to engage and inspire every child, no matter what their interest, love or ability.
100 Women Who Made History is perhaps the more accessible of the two, with small chunks of text and lots of pictures making it a wonderful reference book to dip into. Covering Clued-up Creatives, Super Scientists, Inspiring Campaigners, Leading Ladies, Intrepid Entrepreneurs and Amazing Achievers there really is something for everyone.
I particularly like the ‘who came before…’ and ‘who came after…’ sections, really giving the reader a sense of how women inspire and pave the way for each other. It’s a very inspiring touch.
Inspirational and empowering, these books belong in every school library. They really are incredible resources for the next generation of world changing women.

"100 Women Who Made History: Remarkable Women Who Shaped Our World" by DK Publishing is a great book about different women who are important to us that we acknowledge for their bravery, skill, intelligence and leadership. This book has many different biographies about different women from many different countries and backgrounds. The women in this book are recognized for their courage and perseverance which they all showed in different ways. I rated this book 5 stars because I thought it was amazing learning about the different women of our world that made an impact in different areas. I did not rate it any lower than 5 stars because it taught me the importance of all women who made history. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading biographies and to those who are women, but definitely also to anyone who would like to read it.

This is a book packed full of inspirational women from around the world across 100 of years of history. As soon as we received the book my 8 year old daughter was engrossed in its pages! Firstly the book is very well laid out, its pages are vibrant and draw you in, the text and illustrations / photos was engaging and my daughter was pleased she could read them without any help from me - even though the text, in my opinion, is suited for children aged 10+!
Secondly the content is split into many categories: scientists, explorers, creative proletarian such as artists / writers, achievers such as sports women, campaigners and leaders such as Queens and politicians. Having so many different women to read about was very exciting for my daughter, especially when she found women she has learnt about in school (Rosa Parkes, Cleopatra, Anne Frank and Emmeline Pankhurst).
Each page is full of fascinating information and I was pleased to see current women were included, for example Tanni Grey-Thompson, J K Rowling, Malala Yousafzai, and Carol Bartz which helps the book to cement the idea to young girls that achievement is accessible in all areas of life.
It's definitely a book I'd have at home, or in the classroom, and would recommend it for both girls and boys aged 8+.

This fantastic book is a great reminder of all the remarkable women who helped make our world how we know it. From the well-known Rosa Parks to the less famous Sophie Scholl, they have all helped or contributed in so many different ways. Along with those who have made the world a better place it also includes women who had/have great talents like Coco Chanel or J.K.Rowling. The downfall is that if you are looking to write an essay on one particular person you will need more information, but what this book does brilliantly is introduce you to lots of women you may not have heard of.

This book is less of an encyclopaedia and is more of a book that you can actually  sit down and read to the end. It just makes you appreciate people from the past so much more. I would also add that this book is suitable for children who know a bit more about the world including human rights and problems like race and religious arguments as some young readers might not understand. Overall, I would rate this book 4/5 for the fascinating facts and the breadth of people covered.
