HAVE YOU EVER wanted to know what actually happened to James
Trotter's parents when they encountered an angry escaped rhino?
Or how to make the Twits' infamous bird pie? Well now you can find out, with The Gloriumptious Worlds of Roald Dahl. The book is a brilliant extension to Dahl's wonderful stories, and gives fascinating insights into the characters and events from Roald Dahl's writing in a
humorous, exciting and downright gloriumptious way.
For the very first time, the stories behind the stories are brought to life in this brand new title. Inside, Quentin Blake's iconic illustrations are combined with previously unpublished reproductions of imagined letters, artefacts and posters, and editing notes from Dahl himself, to bring all of Roald Dahl's characters alive.
Whether you have read all of Roald Dahl's stories, or are just beginning to enjoy them, this is a great companion book that will help you delve even deeper into Roald Dahl's worlds.

this book is amazing!! even being an adult myself and having a childhood passion for roald dahl i loved it too. each and every page is full of little facts about each story that really help to bring the stories to life and make it more magical for children. my son especially loved the loompaland map...we've watched charlie and the chocolate factory film many times. i feel every roald dahl lover will absolutely love this book. its different in the way it isn't a story from start to finish but snippets of fun into each and every story and how roald dahl really bought the tales together. we really enjoyed reading this book together as a family and had many laughs whilst also all learning new things too.

This is currently one of our little boys favourite books it is a beautifully illustrated book and describes every story by roald Dahl the key points in the story and characters.  It also gives you some details about roald Dahl.  Our 7 year old reads this on his own and chooses it as his book of choice over any other on a night.

This is such an amazing book - perfect for any Roald Dahl enthusiast from 5 to 105 years old!  Lots of the classics are talked about, Charlie & the chocolate factory, Matilda, James & the giant peach, the Witches, Danny champion of the world etc, and they are shown in such a different way from just reading the normal stories.  For example, whilst reading the BGF section you can read 'A spotter's guide to the man-eating giants of giant country', or read 'Miss Trunchbull's little book of school discipline' in the Matilda section.  The James & the giant peach section was my very favourite, whilst my 4 year old son loved 'How to be a Twit' in the Twits, and my 7 year old daughter adored looking at Roald Dahl's writing hut photos at the beginning of the book.
There is a surpise at the very end of the book - I won't give it away, but it bought a tear to my eye!
The illustrations are by Quentin Blake, which give the book its wonderful, quirkly feel, and is a delight to look over on your own, or with children.  You find something new every time you read it.  It's not like any book about Roald Dahl and his wonderful creations that I have ever read or seen, but it has pride of place with all my other Roald Dahl books!
100% recommend this book - it's a wizz popping, scrumpdiddlyumptious book that should be in every home!

My nearly 7 year old adores this book, I often find her sitting up in bed reading it at night. There is so much in it that captivates the imagination, I believe it is difficult for her to put it down! Her favourite Roald Dahl book is Matilda and she particularly loves this section along with Trunchbull's book of punishments. The book delves further into the worlds of the amazing characters that Roald created which is a wonderful experience for anyone who has already fallen in love with one or more of Roalds fantastic stories. I and my daughter would thoroughly recommend this book!

I love the Roald Dahl books and this was no different. It has lots more information about the books I've already read and it also gave me an idea of where some of the ideas for the books came from. This is an awesome book and I couldn't put it down!

This book is amazing!
I think I've enjoyed it as much as all of my children!
It gives even more information about Roald Dahl's books and insight into the characters he uses.
There are pages with holes, pages that are half-size, letters in envelopes, and much more.
Anyone who loves Roald Dahl books will love this book as you get to know more about the books and characters.

This book was absolutely brilliant at getting the children completely immersed in the weird and wonderful life of Roald Dahl. We looked at it on Roald Dahl day and found out all about Dahl's characters, writing shed and his life before his stories. If you love his books you need this book :)

This was given to my son for his birthday. He has thoroughly enjoyed looking through its pages. Every page is packed with information and illustrations. He has also found out which books by Dahl he hasn't listened to or read. (Next one on the list: George's Marvellous Medicine.) A delightful book that can be dipped in and out of, as when you please.
