1572: in order to secure the peace between Catholics and Protestants, a marriage of convenience is arranged between Margot and the son of the Queen of Navarre. Margot, still in love with the Duke of Guise and repulsed by her fiance, does her best to escape this arranged marriage. However, this union means a lot politically and the princess finds herself drawn into the intolerably cruel events of the night of the St Barthelemy.
