The Level 8 Biff, Chip and Kipper Stories, written by Roderick Hunt and illustrated by Alex Brychta, provide a rich story context to help develop language comprehension and decoding skills.
Stories and More Stories continue to provide a mix of fantasy settings and familiar situations. More complex sentences develop stamina, ensuring that readers will be able to progress to more demanding texts with confidence.

My son loved reading this story from school. He was amazed at how different life was for children back in the day and he said some of the games actually looked fun.
The text is quite small but my son managed fine , the pictures are very well illustrated.

The Biff, Chip and Kipper series seem to improve as you go up the levels. My son is very interested at the moment in history, especially Egyptians, Romans and Victorians. Biff and co go on adventures in each of these periods. We have now read all of these. We have shared this particular book together due to its length. When my son needed a break, I took over for a few pages. There are not too many words on a page, but quite a lot more than lower levels.
It is enjoyable and fun. It has a great ending, which my son appreciated.

My daughter enjoys reading books from this series. She has read a lot, and knows all the characters. This one, she didn't enjoy as much as previous. This book is aimed at older children, my daughter is 5 but reads at a higher level, so this book has a more grown up subject, the Victorians, which she knows nothing about, so she wasn't as interested in the story. She enjoyed looking at the illustrations whilst reading the book
